Our Graduate Employability

A comparison against 2017 Graduate Employability Rate

Preparing Future Ready Graduates

Since 2010, MDIS conducts its own graduate surveys for each graduating cohort. The latest MDIS Graduate Employability Survey (GES) conducted in 2018 for both full-time and part-time students revealed that 80.9% of the graduates were employed within six months of graduation with permanent and temporary placements. This figure is 7.4% higher in comparison to the GES in 2017, which stood at 73.5%.

The results show that MDIS graduates continue to be well sought-after by employers, relishing high overall employment rates.  This further affirms that MDIS’ multi-disciplinary education, industry exposure and internship experiences prepare and equip MDIS students with the relevant interpersonal and professional skills for the workforce.

Career Assistance

MDIS’ Career Assistance Unit (CAU) proactively helps students with relevant career services to increase their chances of landing a job before graduation. Career services include career guidance, talks by industries experts, industry visits, annual career fair and “CareerHub” an exclusive career portal. To-date, the CareerHub portal has more than 1000 registered companies offering employment and internship opportunities and has reached out to over 2,500 students and alumni.

A recent Indonesian graduate from our MBA in Banking and Finance, awarded by Bangor University in UK shared, “Even before completing my studies, I had already received an offer as a Business Development executive at Hashmicro Pte Ltd, which I applied through MDIS’ CareerHub portal. I have MDIS to thank for providing this platform to enable us (students) to find job opportunities.”

Our annual career fairs are partaken widely by employers from various sectors and attended by over 400 students and alumni annually. This year, at our Career Fair themed “Be Future Ready”, we have employers from Amara Singapore, Rotary Engineering, Tata Consultancy Services, Scoot and many more. Participants also get to attend industry talks to prepare themselves with the relevant skills to land a job. Workshops lined up for the Career Fair 2019 are namely, resume writing, creating a good first impression with employers, personality profiling and career development planning for fresh graduates.
